Bored boredy bored bored booooooreeedd!!!

Um, I am bored, can't you tell? I have nothing really new to report as of right now. There are some pretty great things happening, but I'm not really at liberty to speak on anything until I know something. (I loooove being so vague)

Anywayzers, DWTS was pretty great last night. I know I posted on FB that Matt made me change it to Heroes, but it was on our DVR and I was being ornery like usual although I eventually did cave in. But back to the dancing.....here's a run-down on what I think about everyone's performance last night:

*Ty Murray-Loved it! He really did shine in the Lindy Hop and he didn't look like a stick in the mud that was trying to dance in the wind.
*David Allen Grier- I think he did well? I enjoy watching him, but his performance last night probably wasn't worth remembering.
*Shawn Johnson- I always enjoy watching her, she's spectacular! I do agree that she should have danced more than the tricks, but those tricks were pretty much the best of the evening. Thumbs up again for lil' Shawn!
*Lil' Kim- Pretty dang great. I must admit that I didn't like her until maybe last week, but she has really grown on me. Last night's argentine tango that she did was pleasant to watch and I think she excelled in it because she's spicy by nature!
*Holly Madison- All I can say is big boobies do not in any way equal sexiness! She's getting kicked off tonight for sure! (looks like the rigor mortis rubbed off on her b/c of all her years of dating Hef)
*Gilles Marini- Yeouch!!!! That was fabulous! They deserved the marks they received and I am so glad that they did the tango instead of the lindy hop. He is fabulous, yet I still don't want him to win! Sorry
*Steve-O- Oh No!
*Melissa Rycroft- Fabulosity is a word for how she dances! I love her and her technique and her spirit and zest and *sigh* she's fantastic!!!!
*LT- Boring, I had to fast forward through his dance...and why is it that Edyta is ALWAYS naked no matter what kind of dance it is!?!
*Chuck Wicks- Meh! He's getting better, but I'm still not thoroughly impressed with him. Julianne? I love her! She's infectiously entertaining at all times!
*Steve Wozniak- HATE, LOATHE, ABHOR, REPULSED by his dancing and I think Karina is too! It's like she's trying to smile, but she can never hide her disdain for his dancing. He reminds me of Rhino from the movie Bolt, but definitely not as cool as Rhino.

I will be blogging more maybe tomorrow about AI as it is on tonight and I am excited to see what everyone does!

Talk to y'all later!

So....um....ya, stuff!

So, I know that there wasn't AI on last night because of one President Barack Obama.....anyway, what he said was important. Well, I am not at the least surprised about who was eliminated from DWTS yesterday.....it pained me to watch Denise Richards dance! I had to ALWAYS fast forward the time that she danced because it literally hurt my eyes! Wow, I've never seen someone so uncoordinated on the dance floor ever! I'm glad she's gone and I am still sticking with my prediction for this season's winner (Melissa or Shawn, but probably Melissa). I'm sure I will post my opinion on AI sometime tonight or tomorrow....this blog is becoming a lil' boring, but I promise I will be able to post some better things in the near future!

What have I been watching????

I will admit, I am loving me some reality tv. The only thing that would make my life a happier one would be if So You Think You Can Dance was already on. Currently my reality show watching list consists of American Idol and Dancing With The Stars. I will more than likely be posting my opinions and "picks" for the winners of these shows and the last 2 seasons of both shows I've been right on the money...... So as of right now my favorites for American Idol are Matt Giraud and Danny Gokey. A girl is NOT going to win AI this year. Besides, there are only 3 girls left in the top 10 as of tonight (Alexis was eliminated, and rightfully so). My picks for Dancing With The Stars are Melissa (she's amazing) and Shawn Johnson the gymnast (also amazing). I'm hoping that Gilles (naked guy from SATC movie) won't win, but I think that the audience for this show is primarily female and he's pretty good so far. Who deserves to win? I feel that Melissa, hands down, deserves it out of everyone! Anyway, feel free to comment this if you'd like. You may or may not agree with me and that's okay, just remember that I am correct! ;)

Happy watchin'!

Staying at home and cleaning.....

Today Matt and I stayed home and cleaned....oh wait, there's more! I made breakfast for us! I made an attempt to make blueberry pancakes from scratch (with fresh, not frozen, blueberries) for Matt and my first attempt at a ginormous Dutch Baby for myself! Well, I'd have to rate myself a 7 on a scale from 1-10. I definitely think that they tasted good, but I know I could be better! Next weekend would be a good idea to try try try again! Matt successfully made oak smoked steak fajitas today with homemade (from HEB) tortillas. They were totally yum! :-D

Did I mention that I love being at home? I'd love to not work and stay at home and make my house all spick and span! (sp?) I would thoroughly enjoy preparing meals for my husband before he got home, not just slopping something together because I'm worn out and stressed out! I sometimes miss those days in our tiny, old apartment in Citrus Heights. We didn't have much room, but we didn't need it! (Actually, we did or at least my clothes did....lol!) I didn't work all day and I could finally test my cooking skills. Lemme tell ya, I'm not half bad, I love to experiment, I can follow a recipe and I've never set my kitchen on fire (sorry dani). I just wish that my life was simple like that again. *huge heaving sigh* Maybe one day! Pray for me! ;)

Talk to y'all later.....I'll post some fun/funny pictures later!

Forgive me, but I'm still the new kid in town when it comes to the blogginess, but I just found some pictures that are too good to just leave on the hard drive of our mac. They are beautiful in every single way (thanks C.Ag.) and I hope that you enjoy them!

Love y'all!

Um...what happened??

So, if you watch the weather channel or visit weather.com as religiously as I do and you live in the San Antonio/Austin area you probably are wondering the same thing as me.......what the H happened to our beautiful spring-like weather?????? Granted, I love the fact that we are finally getting some much needed rain, but couldn't it be like 70-75 degrees outside with the warm rain? The rain is good and it guarantees me some awesome "toobing" time in the Comal this summer. Sorry, I'm just cold right now because I've lived in Texas for 2 years now and I'm starting to like the heat right now. Plus, there are some super cute spring/summer fashion trends out right now that are perfect for the weather we've had for the past few weeks. It's been gorgeous!!!!!! Oh well, it'll be back soon.

BTW.....If you are looking for a really good vacation spot this summer (californians or whoever, I'm speaking to you!) then please come visit me here! I will promise a fantastic time toobing down the Comal River in New Braunfels, TX. Picture this........ bikini or one-piece, cut-offs, a toob (I know it's tube, shut up-o!), plenty o' sunscreen or not (but don't say I didn't warn you), your choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage whatev's, floatin' down a lazy river with your best buds without a care in the world. Now tell me if that doesn't sound like amazing-ness! It really is great regardless of what you might see around you....eek! ;-) If this sounds great to you then come on down to Texas y'all and we'll soak up the sun and all the margaritas you can handle! (plus, we've got better mexican/tex-mex here, sorry cali)

Peace!
Sarah

How can you turn a curse into a blessing?

So, I haven't posted anything in a while. Not because I didn't want to, but because finding the time and inspiration to do so can be wearisome at times. Anyway, I don't consider my life to be any less full of blessing than anyone else's, but every now and then I tend to have pity-parties for myself (and everyone is invited!). I'm sure the majority of you who read this know that Matt and I have been trying to have children for over a year now to no avail and the longer it takes the more impatient I get. I am impatient by nature and I don't think there's anything or anyone (besides God) who can get me to be patient. With my impatience comes the ever so popular "pity-party" and no one enjoys those, not even the person going through it truly enjoys it. I just start to feel so sorry for myself that I forget all the wonderful blessings that I have been given. I am a blessed person! But the problem is that what I think is a curse or whatever you want to call it, maybe isn't a curse after all. At least I need to start thinking of it as a blessing instead of a curse. You can never truly plot out your life even if you have a day planner from Franklin Covey, it won't happen. Life throws curve balls at you that you are expected to do something with. Hopefully you won't strike out when they come at you, but sometimes you do and that's perfectly ok. I do actually have a point that I'm trying to get across, so bear with me! There's nothing you can do, say, get away from, etc to plan everything that is going to happen. I don't know if you'd even want to know what was going to happen if you had the chance. I sure wouldn't have liked to know that I would be going through whatever you want to call this when I was younger because then I wouldn't have enjoyed the life that I had leading up to this point. If I had been told that it would be hard for me to get pregnant then, I would have been more depressed than I am now. The point is, no matter what happens I need to remember that I'm not cursed, I am blessed. Really truly blessed! Matt gave me this verse today that he got from a Greg Laurie devotional: "We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken. We are perplexed (confused, bewildered, puzzled), but we don't give up and quit. We are hunted down, but God nevers abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 I really needed that inspiration for the day and every day to remind me that I am not alone in this battle that we call "life". I will never be alone as long as God is on my side and those who've gone on before me. Today I was also reminded that when we think that we are going through the worst possible circumstances, there's always someone who has it worse off. I'm not saying that to minimize your suffering, but to encourage you that there are other people who understand and are going through it too. You aren't alone! With this I was reminded of a song that I've loved for so long. It is called "Gratitude" by Nichole Nordeman and I would highly recommend that you listen to this song as it is truly a sweet masterpiece! I want to let you read the lyrics, but if you've never heard the melody, please listen to it!

Send some rain, would you send some rain..
'Cause the earth is dry and needs to drink again
And the sun is high and we are sinking in the shade
Would You send a cloud, thunder long and loud?
Let the sky grow black and send some mercy down
Surely You can see that we are thirsty and afraid
But maybe not, not today
Maybe You'll provide in other ways
And if that's the case.....
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude
For lessons learned in how to thirst for You
How to bless the very sun that warms our face
If you never send us rain

Daily bread, give us daily bread
Bless our bodies, keep our children fed
Fill our cups, then fill them up again tonight
Wrap us up and warm us through
Tucked away beneath our sturdy roofs
Let us slumber safe from danger's view this time....
Or maybe not, not today
Maybe You'll provide in other ways
And if that's the case...
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude
A lesson learned to hunger after You
That a starry sky offers a better view
If no roof is overhead
And if we never taste that bread....

Oh the differences that often are between
Everything we want and what we really need

So grant us peace, Jesus grant us peace
Move our hearts to hear a single beat
Between alibis and enemies tonight
Or maybe not, not today
Peace might be another world away
And if that's the case....
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude
For lessons learned in how to trust in You
That we are blessed beyond what we could ever dream
In abundance or in need
And if You never grant us peace...

But, Jesus, would You please.....

So, if you have the chance to read this blog or these lyrics I challenge you to really examine what is a "curse" to you in your life and find a way to turn it into a blessing. Nothing makes the enemy more angry than when you turn something meant for harm into something that will ultimately bless your life. Not that I think that our pregnancy delay is a curse of the devil or a punishment, but my negative reaction to it's delay is the curse. What is going on in your life that you need to change your way of thinking? What sun is heating you up that you just need to whip out the sunblock and sunglasses and enjoy the warmth? Believe me, I am talking to myself too. I don't have any answers to your problems or my problems, all I can hope and trust in is that I know who does have all the answers and His ways are much higher than my own! I just want you to be inspired to go through this "storm" and be in gratitude every day no matter what! I will be doing the same thing right along with you! Thanks for reading!
